Celebrating Six Weeks of Blogging Today: New York Wedding Photographer

six weeks of bloggingIt was 7am and I couldn’t sleep. Thoughts, ideas, concerns and excitement racing through my head of the future. I tossed and turned and honestly I just wanted to sleep, but I just couldn’t. I was excited to basically have two months off to focus on my business and quality time with friends and family.

The lovely couples I was meeting and the connections I was making were more than I could have ever dreamed they would be but I still desired more growth for my business. I decided to challenge myself and blog consecutively. I didn’t know exactly how long this was going to be for, but I wanted to blog every day except weekends up until my first official wedding when my season would really kick into gear. Truthfully, I’ve made these sorts of declarations in the past and I never followed through so I wanted this time to be different. Guess what?!?? It was! I didn’t put a time crunch on it. I didn’t know how long it was when I started blogging to when my first wedding was going to be. However, once I added it up I realized tomorrow will be my first official wedding of the season and today marks six weeks of blogging consecutively!

Why blogging?
When I began blogging I wanted to have a place to display my work. With all the weddings I’ve had the opportunity of photographing over the years and trying to get my personality across online, blogging seemed like the best outlet.

What benefits have come from blogging?
So to be honest I had no idea what to expect. I wasn’t even sure if anyone other than my friend Amy would read any of my posts. But, some great things happened. As I began sharing more weddings, engagements, and personal posts I received more inquires, sweet remarks from potential and current clients, and positivity from fellow industry peeps. Not to mention more of an online presence and SEO for weddings I loved being apart of. Needless to say it’s been really rewarding!

What’s to come with blogging?
Well, I’m all about setting realistic expectations and goals now. The last six weeks of blogging was no cake walk for me. It was a whole lot of planning ahead and preparation that at many times I underestimated. Stepping into the busy wedding season I hope to fully exceed my clients expectations and the dreams I have for my business. Now, realistically I’m looking forward to blogging 2 to 3 times a week on all the upcoming love stories I have the privilege of photographing. And who knows maybe I’ll share a love story or two of my own.

Growing business blogging

Thank you Melissa Enid Photography for this behind the scenes!

So, here’s to living on the edge and going after dreams. 😉 I’m looking forward to an exciting season and I am so very appreciative of all the love, support and encouragement I have received! Thank you for joining me on this journey. I can’t wait to see and share what the next few months have in store!
