A Fun-Filled Wedding in St. Simons Island

The COVID pandemic changed the meaning of weddings for many couples. Some postponed their weddings, some opted for elopements, and some just changed everything for a smaller setup. But no matter how small the weddings got, the magic remained the same. Laura and Chris were no different and found themselves in a similar situation when COVID ruined their wedding plans. They had to cut their guest list in half and went ahead with a relatively smaller wedding than they had initially planned. But despite that, things could not have been more perfect as their wedding day turned out to be a real-life fairy tale, that too with a beach as a backdrop and A LOT of fun! 

Laura & Chris Wedding in St. Simons Island

Laura and Chris hosted their wedding at a gorgeous resort in St. Simons Island in Georgia. The island is the largest of the Golden Isles group of islands and is simply picture-perfect. It was easy to find gorgeous backgrounds for Laura and Chris’s couple portraits. Their wedding day started with a bit of a drizzle, setting a pleasant mood for the rest of the day. The music, the dancing, and the pictures (you just can’t miss the photos from the dance floor), every detail of their wedding weekend just fell into place to make it even more magical. And to add to all the magic, I even managed to photograph the couple with a glimpse of the rainbow in the backdrop! 

Winnie, the couple’s dog, who was also their ring bearer, stole the show and probably everyone’s hearts as well with all the cuteness. Another heartfelt moment of the day was when Give It All We Got Tonight by George Strait was played for Laura and Chris’s first dance. Their wedding weekend unfolded with a fun and laid back vibe. And when the party got started, the bride and groom switched to sneakers and danced the night away with the rest of their guests.
