Portia + Elliot had the perfect wedding day! We’re talking clear blue skies, just enough breeze to not be too hot or too cold, and picture perfect locations all throughout Newport.

These two met in Castine, Maine where Portia spent most of her childhood summers. They were on a mutual friends boat and “just hanging out” when Elliot spotted Portia. He had already hit it off with her brother, and he knew he had to figure out a way to get her attention. When he asked their mutual friends for Portia’s number they said no, that he didn’t stand a chance. That’s exactly what Elliot needed to hear… Challenge accepted!

The next time they saw each other was about a year or two later and Portia was on a run in Castine. He followed her (not the stalker-ish way), rolled down his window and said hello. She didn’t give him much but he kept trying to win her affection and pretty soon it paid off!

Elliot grew up just outside Newport Rhode Island in Jamestown. Do yourself a favor and go visit at some point! It’s the perfect mix of charm and fun. And their wedding weekend was exactly that! Surrounded by only 50 of their nearest and dearest friends and family they mixed charm, fun, adventure and water and celebrated with their loved ones.
