Venmo : The Easiest Way to Make and Share Payments

VenmoLast August, my now roommate suggested we use an app to pay each other for bills we owed. This app is VENMO, the best way to pay your friends. It’s simple, fun and free to use. I’ll be honest, I was skeptical. Having just had my credit card stolen and charged, I was weary of putting my financial information on an app. My roommate had been using it and swore off any issues with stolen identity. It was super easy to download, and extremely seamless when it came to making immediate, large payments, such as rent. Not only could we pay one another, but we could charge each other with reminders of what we owed throughout the month. This led me to tell my friends about it. Considering I rarely carry cash and splitting the bill at lunch always left someone short that two dollars, I found this to be the best solution. It has literally taken any hassle out of paying and getting paid; I love it and so will you!

Venmo 2Venmo is easy to use, travels with you, and is perfect personally and professionally for small businesses.

Personally, I have two banks! Wells Fargo and Bank of America. While there’s a Bank of America on every NYC corner, Wells Fargo’s are few and far between. I was able to connect both my debit cards, for free and select which card I wanted payment to come from and be deposited to. Before Venmo, I was having to do it bank by bank and it took up to three days to send money or receive any money. With Venmo its immediate, and while spending money isn’t painless, the process should be.

Similar to facebook, it has a newsfeed of friends and what they’re up to/who they’re paying. The app can be used on the iPhone, Android and Blackberry or on the web. I encourage you to download it, become my friend, and enjoy splitting the bill or paying that IOU quicker and easier.
