Travel Tips and Tricks

IMG_0118Nashville is an amazing city! I’d have to say my first time really doing Nashville was an awesome experience and a great adventure!  I can’t wait to share my recap but for now here are a few travel tips and tricks I’d like to share.

Trying to grab a little shut eye?
DO buy this awesome travel hoodie pillow from

hoodiepillowThis was a serious life changer. Jackie had one of these and I was… I mean I am jealous!
DON’T use the shoulder of the stranger next to you. 🙂

DO have a relaxed itinerary.
DON’T stay so focused on a timely schedule that you miss out on some spontaneous fun.

DO be open to meet new people. It’s always nice to have connections in different states and you’ll probably get out of the touristy areas and into the local spots which is always fun.
DON’T plan your weekend around your new friends. If its supposed to work out it will.

DO wear something comfortable.
DON’T wear synthetic fibers, belts, a lot of jewelry, lace up shoes, or a bad attitude.

While traveling I typically wear leggings, slip on slip off boots, a sweater or something that takes up a lot room in my suit case and very minimal jewelry. My Nashville travel partner, Jackie decided to wear a comfy dress that happened to have a lot of synthetic fibers in it. She checked her bag, I did not. So I was a little slower than she was in getting to the security check point. Jackie went ahead of me through the security check point and low and behold she was stopped and patted down. She then had to have her fingers tested and some how they tested positive for explosives. The line was getting longer and longer, the strangers behind me getting more irritated by the second. I was hysterically laughing as they finally let me through and I breezed on on by to my belongings. Jackie was brought into containment and given a serious pat down. All that to say… choose wisely as to what you might wear to the airport.

Hopefully some of these tips and tricks will help you on your next adventure! 🙂
